New Delhi : The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched Aditya L-1 on Saturday, September 2, 2023, under the Solar Mission, to establish it in the Halo Orbit near the Lagrangian Point between the Sun-Earth. ISRO is also sending seven payloads with Aditya L-1, which will study the photosphere and chromosphere along with the corona, the outer layer of the Sun, in addition to the particles of the Sun’s atmosphere and in-situ studies. ISRO has also sent four such pay-loaders out of seven pay-loaders of Aditya L-1, which will directly monitor the Sun. The biggest thing is that we know about the instruments sent by ISRO to study Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars etc. in space, but who manufactures these instruments and who provides them to ISRO Very few people know about this. Come, let us know which is the company of India, which provides equipment to ISRO for all the missions of space.

What equipment is Aditya L-1 carrying along

The instruments that ISRO’s Aditya L-1 will be carrying to study the Sun’s outer layer corona, photosphere and chromosphere include Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC), Solar Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (UEMT). SUIT), Solar Low Energy X-ray Spectrometer (SOLEX), High Energy L1 Orbital X-ray Spectrometer (HEL1OS), Aditya Solar Wind Particle Experiment (ASPEX), Plasma Analyzer Package for Aditya (PAPA), Advanced Tri- Axial High Resolution Digital Magnetometer, Solar Coronal Imager (SCI), Solar X-ray Spectrometer (SXS), Solar Wind Plasma Analyzer (SWAP), Magnetometer (MAG), Solar Particle Monitor (SPM) and In-situ Solar Spectrometer (ISS) etc. are included.

what equipment will work

  • Solar Coronal Imager (SCI): The instrument will photograph the Sun’s corona in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light.

  • Solar X-ray Spectrometer (SXS): This instrument will measure the X-ray spectrum of the Sun.

  • Solar Wind Plasma Analyzer (SWAP): This instrument will measure the plasma of the solar wind.

  • Magnetometer (MAG) : This instrument will measure the magnetic field of the Sun.

  • Solar Particle Monitor (SPM): This instrument will measure solar energy particles.

  • In-situ Solar Spectrometer (ISS): The instrument will measure the plasma and energetic particles of the solar wind in-situ.

Which company is providing the equipment

Let us tell you that Larsen & Toubro (L&T), which manufactures important equipment required for Chandrayaan, is also working with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on its mission Aditya L-1 and Mission Gaganyaan. The Mumbai-headquartered multinational company contributed to the launch of the LVM3M4 Chandrayaan mission, which manufactured the booster segments, head end, middle segment and nozzle bucket flange with a diameter of 3.2 meters at L&T’s facility in Powai. The company also manufactured ground and flight umbilical plates, deck panels and hardware systems for the mission.

L&T is associated with ISRO for 50 years

SN Subramanian, CEO & MD, L&T said, “We are proud to be a part of this historic occasion and are overwhelmed by the faith the country has shown in our high-tech manufacturing expertise. The company has been associated with ISRO for over 50 years, where it contributed to building the launch vehicle for SLV 3. AT Ramchandani, executive vice-chairman and head of L&T Defence, says that space technology has a space heritage, in which one has to build the capability required to perform a space mission. Over the years we have developed capabilities in manufacturing launch vehicle hardware.

space mission

L&T has collaborated with ISRO not only for Chandrayaan mission but also working on Aditya L-1 and Gaganyaan. Ramchandani says that we participate in PSLV launch mission. We have a state of the art manufacturing facility in Coimbatore and we deal in Heat Shield, Rocket Hardware and many more. The upcoming mission of Aditya-L1 and Gaganyaan in which humans will orbit the earth. We are working on flight-rated hardware and will stick to the mission. L&T is also working on a module for the crew and crew escape system for the mission.
