New Delhi, 30 August (Hindustan Times). On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the central government, while giving a big relief, announced a reduction in the prices of LPG cylinders by Rs 200, which came into effect from Wednesday.

After the reduction in the price of domestic cooking gas, its price in the capital Delhi has come down from Rs 1103 to Rs 903 per cylinder. In the financial capital of the country, its price has been increased to Rs 902 instead of Rs 1102 in Mumbai, Rs 929 instead of Rs 1129 in Kolkata, Rs 918 instead of Rs 1118 in Chennai, Rs 908 in Bhopal and Rs 906 in Jaipur.

In fact, the central government had announced a reduction of Rs 200 in the price of domestic cooking gas (14.2 kg) cylinder on Tuesday. The reduction in the price of LPG cylinder has come into effect across the country. About 30 crore customers will benefit from this decision of the government. Apart from this, the subsidy of Rs 200 to the beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana has been increased to Rs 400. The beneficiaries of Ujjwala will now get LPG cylinder for around Rs 700.

It is noteworthy that the public sector oil companies had increased the price of 14.2 kg LPG gas cylinder by Rs 50 per cylinder in March 2023. After this, its price in Delhi had increased to Rs 1103 per cylinder. Earlier on July 6, 2022, its prices were increased by Rs 50. Subsidy is not available on LPG cylinders since June 2020. In June 2020, a non-subsidised cylinder was available in Delhi for Rs 593, which has now become Rs 903 after the new price.
