Are you also troubled by oily skin this summer, then try these 11 effective tips – Dainik Savera Times

New Delhi: Oily skin is a common skin type characterized by excessive production of sebum, a natural oil produced by the skin’s sebaceous glands. This excess oil can lead to a shiny, greasy look, enlarged pores, and an increased chance of developing certain skin problems like acne and blackheads. Oily skin can occur in people of all ages and backgrounds and is influenced by a combination of genetic, hormonal and environmental factors.

Individuals with oily skin often have difficulty maintaining a balanced complexion. While excessive oil can be frustrating, it’s important to note that sebum plays a vital role in keeping the skin hydrated and protected. However, when sebum production becomes excessive, it can cause a number of skin care challenges.

Use a gentle, sulfate-free and pH-balanced cleanser to wash your face twice a day, in the morning and before bed. Avoid harsh, drying soaps as they can strip the skin of natural oils, causing it to produce even more oil as compensation.

Regular exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells that can clog pores and contribute to oiliness. Opt for a mild exfoliant with ingredients like salicylic acid or glycolic acid and use it 1-2 times a week to prevent excessive exfoliation.

#Mud Mask:

Apply clay mask once a week. Clay, such as kaolin or bentonite, can absorb excess oil and impurities from the skin, leaving it looking and feeling refreshed.

Oily skin also needs hydration. Use a light, oil-free or non-comedogenic moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated without adding excess oil. Hydrated skin is less likely to produce excess oil.

# balanced diet:

Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Avoid excessive consumption of sweet or high glycemic foods, as they can contribute to oiliness and acne.

# tea tree oil:

Consider using tea tree oil as a spot treatment for acne. It has natural antibacterial properties and can help reduce acne without over-drying the skin. Dilute it with carrier oil before applying.

# witch hazel:

Witch hazel is a natural astringent that can help tighten skin pores and control excess oil. After cleaning, apply it with a cotton ball.

# Avoid touching your face:

Touching your face with dirty hands can transfer oil and bacteria, which can lead to acne. Try to avoid touching your face unnecessarily.
