Asia cup: Babar Azam is dreaming of defeating India by winning from Nepal, what did Pakistani captain say?

Multan: Pakistan captain Babar Azam said a massive 238-run win over Nepal in the Asia Cup opener will give his team confidence ahead of the much-anticipated clash against arch-rivals India. Pakistan got off to a winning start in the Asia Cup, beating weak Nepal by a huge margin of 238 runs in their Group A match. Pakistan will now travel to Sri Lanka for the match against India to be played at Pallekele.

After the match, Babar said, ‘This match was a good preparation for the match against India because it gave us confidence. We want to give 100 per cent in every match, hope to do the same there.

Babar scored 151, his 19th ODI century. Iftikhar Ahmed (109 not out) scored his maiden ODI century, helping Pakistan post 342 for six batting first. In response, Nepal’s entire team was dismissed for a mammoth 104 runs in 23.4 overs.

Babar said, ‘When I landed at the crease, I wanted to test some balls. The ball was not coming at the batsman at the same speed. I formed a partnership with Rizwan and he had a big impact on the match. Both I and Rizwan encourage each other.

He said, ‘Things changed after Iftikhar came. He batted very well. After hitting two-three fours, he came into rhythm. Babur said, ‘I am satisfied with this performance. Fast bowlers and spinners did their job well.
