Bengaluru: Terminal 2 to handle all international flights from August 31


Important news is coming for all international and domestic passengers flying from Bengaluru, Karnataka. From 10:45 am on August 31, 2023, T1 of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) will cater to domestic flights only. All international flight operations will be shifted to Terminal 2 or T2.

To kick start the process, Singapore Airlines SQ 508 will be the first international flight to land at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on 31 August. The first flight to Terminal 2 will be from Changi International Airport.

Terminal 2 or T2 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 11, 2022. The terminal became operational on January 15 this year. As of now, Terminal 2 only serves domestic flights. To make the travel experience seamless for international passengers, immigration counters, customs offices, duty-free shops, retail and food and beverage outlets have been set up at Terminal 2. Travelers can also take advantage of complimentary shuttle service to and from Terminal 1. terminal 2.

If you already have flights booked on or after August 31, 2023, all travelers are reminded to be mindful of the terminal change. Currently, carriers such as AirAsia India, Star Air and Vistara operate their domestic flights from Terminal 2. Following the terminal change, all domestic flights will be transferred to Terminal 1.
