Railway employees’ organizations NFIR, URMU and other federations will together hold a rally against the New Pension Scheme (NPS) at Ramlila Maidan here on August 10. During this, employees of other organizations across the country will also participate. M Raghuvaiah, general secretary of the National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) and BC Sharma, general secretary of the Northern Railway Mazdoor Union (URMU), said in a press conference held on Saturday that various federations, including railway employees, will join forces against the new pension scheme on August 10. Maha rally will be organized at Ramlila Maidan. He said that representatives of state governments and defense sector, doctors, teachers, etc. will participate in this. According to a statement, both the leaders said that our demand is that the one who brings the old pension will get votes. Whichever party will bring this issue in its manifesto, we will support that party. Raghuvaiah said that a protest will be held at Ramlila Maidan along with various federations and associations, in which railway employees from across the country will participate. On this occasion, a program of intense struggle against NPS and for the restoration of OPS can be declared by the joint platform in future.
