He said, ‘You (Al-Issa) in the conversation elaborated on diversity as a fundamental feature of our existence. It (India) has been a meeting place of cultures, religions, languages ​​and ethnicities, which have co-existed in harmony for centuries.’ Doval said, ‘As an inclusive democracy, India has managed to give equal importance to all its citizens irrespective of their religious, ethnic and cultural identity.’ Doval said, “The scale we are talking about can be gauged from the fact that India’s Muslim population is almost equal to the combined population of more than 33 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).” He emphasized that India is playing its role as a haven of diverse views with an unlimited capacity to absorb dissent. Disagreement does not mean disintegration, disagreement does not necessarily mean conflict, he said. But no one in this country is in danger for their views. Al-Issa is here at the official invitation of the Government of India. MWL is an international non-governmental organization headquartered in Mecca, consisting of members from all Islamic countries and sects.
