Dawood’s connection with Babbar Khalsa, Canada became the launching pad for anti-India conspiracies

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has exposed the web of links between the Khalistani terrorist group and the underworld. The investigation also highlights how Canada and some countries in Europe have become breeding grounds for Khalistani terrorism and anti-India activities. Court documents show the extent of these troubling relationships. According to NIA findings, banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) receives funds mainly from the Sikh community living in Europe and North America, which is used in anti-India activities. BKI is known for actively organizing and participating in Sikh rallies and fundraising events in various cities across Canada. This money collected abroad finds its way into activities targeting India.

The NIA findings also revealed BKI’s links with notorious underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, one of India’s most wanted criminals. The investigation has revealed the nexus between BKI and Dawood Ibrahim, whose links extend to terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Indian Mujahideen. It has been revealed that a meeting took place in 2002, where Iqbal, a close aide of BKI leader Lakhbir Singh, brought Bunty Abdul Karim Tunda to Dawood’s residence in Karachi. With terrorists deployed in Pakistan, North America and Europe, BKI’s presence has extended far beyond India’s borders.

Additionally, BKI remains active in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Germany, Norway, and Switzerland, posing a global security threat. The NIA investigation has also revealed that BKI continues its operations from Pakistan with the support of Pakistan’s spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The above findings come amid a diplomatic row between India and Canada after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged a possible link of Indian government agents in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey in June. The government has repeatedly talked about providing safe haven to terrorists abroad, including in Canada.
