Kathmandu 07 September, (Hindustan Times). Digital payment service has started between India and Nepal. Nepal citizens can now access all e-wallet services in India through UPI. Similarly, Indian citizens can transact in Nepal through all types of e-wallets including UPI, BHIM, Phone Pay, Google Pay.

Under the agreement signed between Nepal and India, digital business was started through QR code in the Global Fintech Fest held in India. On behalf of Nepal, the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank launched this service. The ceremony marked the beginning of digital business between Nepal’s PhonePe and India’s UPI.

During the visit of Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda to India, an agreement was signed to start business transactions through digital medium between the two countries. It has also started from Thursday. Now it will become easier for all types of citizens including Indian tourists, businessmen visiting Nepal to do business in Nepal. Indian citizens can now make payments through any e-wallet directly from their bank accounts through UPI.
