San Francisco. Users of Meta’s Twitter rival Threads have found that Elon Musk has started limiting search results when trying to find links to Threads on the microblogging platform, while the platform is currently filled with links to Threads content.

“Twitter is selectively blocking searches of Tweets that link to threads, even if those threads allow URL posting,” posted users on the thread.

The behavior is also being widely reported by Twitter users, reports The Verge. The issue was detected when discovering links to specific URLs with the “url:” search operator.

Searching for “url: threads.net” on Twitter returns zero results, despite the many tweets related to the domain.

Similarly, searching for “threads.net” without the “url:” operator returned dozens of irrelevant results from users who have a Threads account in their display name, the report said.

Other Twitter users shared screenshots from their Threads accounts that included the reduced battery-life graphic.

“Threads app is collecting so much background data that it is draining users’ phone battery faster than any other application,” tweeted one user.(IANS)
