Colombo: Skipper Yash Dhull struck an unbeaten century after fast bowler Harshit Rana starred as India A registered an emphatic eight-wicket win over United Arab Emirates (UAE) A in their opening match of the ACC Men’s Emerging Cup. Ashwant Valthapa (46 runs), opener Aryansh Sharma (38 runs) and Mohammad Farajuddin (35 runs) were the only three players to contribute for the UAE team. Chasing 176 for victory, India A lost both their openers Sai Sudarshan (08) and Abhishek Sharma (19) inside the sixth over when the score was 41 runs. Par Dhull and Nikin Jose (41 not out) stitched an unbroken 138-run third wicket partnership to ensure a comfortable victory.

Dhull played an aggressive innings with excellent timing. He hit 20 fours and a six during his 84-ball unbeaten innings. Jos played the role of partner well and his 53-ball knock included five fours. Ali Naseer took one wicket for 14 runs and Mohammad Jawadullah took one wicket for 47 runs for UAE.
India A will now take on Nepal A on July 17, before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan A in the final group match on July 19. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals to be held on July 21. The final will be played on 23 July.
