ENG vs NZ: Big change in England team before T20 series against New Zealand, this player returns


London: England fast bowler Josh Tongue has been ruled out of England’s upcoming T20I series against New Zealand. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has included fast bowling all-rounder Chris Jordan in the 15-man squad in his place. The 25-year-old Tung was set to feature in England’s white-ball matches for the first time after playing Tests against Ireland and Australia in the home summer.

The right-arm fast bowler has taken 10 wickets in two Test matches, impressing everyone with his pace and movement. He has now been ruled out of the T20Is against New Zealand due to injury along with fellow uncapped bowler John Turner. Jordan is England’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is with 96 wickets in 87 matches.

England will begin the four-match T20I series with the opening match against New Zealand at Chester-le-Street from Wednesday. After this there will be matches in Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham on 1, 3 and 5 September.

A series of four T20 and as many ODIs is to be played between New Zealand and England. This is a better preparation opportunity for both the teams ahead of the World Cup. The first four T20 series is to be played between England and New Zealand. The first T20 match of the series will be played on August 30 at Chester-le-Street Ground. At the same time, the second T20 match is to be played at Old Trafford on 1 September. At the same time, the third match will be played in Birmingham on 3 September while the fourth T20 match is to be played in Nottingham on 5 September.

A series of four ODIs is to be played after the T20 series between the two teams. The first match of the ODI series will be played in Cardiff on 8 September. Apart from this, the second ODI is to be played in Southampton on 10 September. While the third ODI is to be played on September 13 at the Over Cricket Ground in London, the tour and the final and fourth ODI will be played on September 15.
