Mumbai Actress Huma Qureshi will be seen playing the role of Tarla Dalal in the upcoming biopic ‘Tarla’. She comes from a family that is fond of food and drink.

Huma Qureshi’s father opened his first restaurant ‘Salim’ in 1977, which is non-vegetarian. Taking inspiration from Huma’s upcoming biopic, the actress’ father has come up with a new special veg dish called Batata Musallam.

Talking about the relationship between ‘Salim’ and the late chef, Huma Qureshi said: “The journey of Tarla Dalal and ‘Salim’ began in the 70s. Today, 50 years later, these two worlds come together It warms my heart to see you coming.”

He further mentioned, “After watching the trailer, my father decided to take inspiration from Tarla ji and introduce her popular dish Batata Musallam in ‘Salim’. The power of food and bringing communities together is what India loves the most.” It’s one of the beautiful things.”

Late Tarla Dalal was famous for converting a popular non-veg dish into a veg one. For example, they introduced Batata Musallam, inspired by Murgh Musallam, where the gravy was the same. However, he put potatoes instead of chicken.

While promoting her film in Delhi, Huma along with her co-star Sharib Hashmi went to her father’s restaurant to enjoy Batata Musallam dish.

‘Tarla’ is a biographical film on one of India’s iconic home chefs, Tarla Dalal, the first woman to have her own cookbook, her own cookery show and a Padma Shri recipient for her work in the culinary field. The only Indian.
