India became a confluence of progress, nature and humanity

prime minister today Narendra Modi government is completing 9 years. During this period revolutionary changes have taken place in every field of India in terms of development. I have been a witness to this changing India. First as a common citizen, then as a Governor, later as the President of the country and now as the former President of the country, I have experienced these transformational changes very closely. As a citizen of the country I want to say this much definitely that my country is changing. Today every citizen of the country is experiencing this. Also, the whole world is also surprised by the change in India in the last 9 years and is saluting India.

In the last 9 years, it is a pleasant sign that India’s strength is being felt continuously on the global forums. This power is also increasing because the world no longer wants war, it wants peace. The way India is attracting the attention of the global community at all important international forums with its peace, humanitarian thinking and anti-violence-war policies, it shows that India’s role in international affairs is increasing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Is and is getting stronger. We have recently seen a proof of this in Hiroshima, Fiji and Australia as well. The way the G-20 was successfully organized in India, it is going to make the whole country proud. The successful conduct of the G-20 meeting in Srinagar is a strong sign of India’s growing presence on the global stage. Holding of G-20 meetings in Ladakh and Arunachal along with Srinagar reflects the philosophy of ‘Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat’.

The thing that has pleased me the most in the last 9 years is that during this period the villages, the poor, the farmers, the Dalits, the oppressed, the exploited, the deprived, the backward, the women and the youth have all become empowered. Today the daughters of India are hoisting their flag in every field. The youth of the country are leaving their mark on the global stage. The Narendra Modi government has been dedicated to social justice because the basis of the work culture of the government has been Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. In the last 9 years, the doors of banks were opened for about 48 crore people, more than 18 thousand villages deprived of electricity and about 4 crore houses got electricity, about three crore poor houses were built, about 11 crore toilets were built, 9.5 crore gas Connections distributed, Ayushman Bharat cover given to 55 crore people of the country, crores of LED bulbs distributed, lakhs of villages connected with optical fibre, monthly pension arranged for farmers and laborers and more than 10 crores Farmers are being empowered under Kisan Samman Nidhi. About 80 crore people of the country are being given essential ration free of cost. These are the basic dimensions that India was waiting for years.

Today, the money entitled to the beneficiaries is being transferred directly to their bank accounts without any middleman. This money is being used for poor welfare schemes by ending the leakage that was happening earlier. I have read the news that an amount of more than Rs 27 lakh crore has been transferred through DBT to the accounts of the beneficiaries so far. In the last 9 years, there has been a massive increase in the per capita income of the country and the income of the farmers. Every village is connected by pucca roads. There has been extensive expansion of National Highways. Development corridors are being made. India’s prowess in infrastructure development is unmatched. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not only working to take the country forward on every front, but he is also correcting many mistakes of history and realizing the strong resolution of ‘New India’. In the last 9 years, India ensured permanent solutions to many contentious issues. A grand Shri Ram temple is being built in Ayodhya, Article 370 was abolished from Jammu and Kashmir, terrorism was dealt a decisive blow and Muslim women got freedom from triple talaq. In the last 9 years, the country has started on the path of getting rid of every thought of slavery. Race Course Road became prestigious as Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajpath is now Duty Path, National War Memorial was built, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s statue was installed at India Gate, Statue of Unity, the world’s largest statue dedicated to Sardar Patel.

It has been 75 years since the country became independent. Today India is known as the world’s largest democracy, but even after so many years, our temple of democracy was running in the British carpet-built building, Parliament, which was not even built as a Parliament House. There was a need for a new Parliament House for years. I too felt the need for a new building as a Member of Parliament. It was discussed several times but no initiative was taken. Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook the construction of the new Parliament House and our new Parliament House was completed in record time. The whole country witnessed this historic moment. It will contribute immensely in preserving and promoting the great democratic values of India. Sengol, the symbol of the transfer of power at the time of independence of the country, was also installed in the Parliament House with complete law and legislation, which is a symbol of our great heritage. I also had the privilege of witnessing this historic occasion.

In the 9 years of the Narendra Modi government, India has overcome many challenges and converted it into an opportunity for the country. The way the country showed solidarity and defeated it during the Corona period, it is really commendable. Despite Corona and the Russia-Ukraine war and the economic recession in the world, India is developing at the fastest rate. With the vision of the Narendra Modi government, India became the 5th largest economy in the world in 9 years. India is also moving towards self-reliance in the defense sector. India is also exporting defense products today. Border security has been strengthened. The Vibrant Village Program started with the objective of border security and empowerment of people living in border villages cannot be praised enough.
