Jaishankar, Blinken seen in colorful clothes at East Asia Summit


New Delhi (Best Hindu News): External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken were seen in colorful and printed shirts while attending the East Asia Summit (EAS) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Jaishankar and Blinken attended the 13th EAS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in the Indonesian capital on Friday.

The External Affairs Minister shared a picture with Blinken on Twitter in which Jaishankar wore a blue printed shirt, while Blinken wore a brown, blue and white shirt.

Jaishankar said in his tweet, “It was a pleasure to meet Blinken. Discussed PM Narendra Modi’s recent US visit with him. Also exchanged views on Ukraine, Myanmar and Indo-Pacific.

In the meeting, Jaishankar said that India strongly supports the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) and its implementation from the EAS.

“There is great synergy between the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI) and AOIP proposed by India,” he said.

He added that the Quad will always support ASEAN and its leadership mechanisms, adding that the AOIP contributes to the Quad’s vision.

The Quad is a strategic forum consisting of four countries — the US, India, Australia and Japan.

One of the primary objectives of the Quad is to work for a free, open, prosperous and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.

Jaishankar further said that India affirms ASEAN in the Indo-Pacific and advocates strengthening the EAS.
