Geographical Indication (GI) to the famous Bhaderwah Rajma and Sulai Honey of Ramban of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.GI) has got the status. Organizations in Jammu had applied for GI tag last year for eight different traditional items from different districts of Jammu region. Director Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare-Jammu KK Sharma said that Doda and Ramban districts got two geographical indicators today. There is Rajma of Bhaderwah, which is called red bean. The second is honey. This is Sulai honey of Ramban district. These are two important products of Chenab Valley. He said that these products are the means of socio-economic development of the region. GI status will help in doubling the income of farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted organic Sulai honey to Queen Elizabeth during her visit to the UK in 2015.
