Kia launches new version of Seltos, eyes on increasing market share

New Delhi: South Korean automaker Kia on Tuesday launched a facelifted version of its mid-size SUV model Seltos in a bid to increase its market share. The company hopes that the new version of Seltos will help in increasing its sales. The company said that Seltos is equipped with many new features and safety measures. Kia India aims to increase its share of the Indian passenger vehicle market from 7 per cent to 10 per cent. For this, it intends to double its sales network along with introducing new variants of vehicles.

The bookings for the new variant will open from 14th July and will go on sale from 25th July. Tae Jin Park, managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of Kia India, said the launch of the new variant is in line with the intention to capture 10 per cent market share in India. “We feel there is a huge growth potential in the mid-size SUV segment. The new Seltos will play its part in this.” The Seltos has been instrumental in getting Kia’s initial popularity in the Indian market. Even today it accounts for 55 per cent of the total sales of the company.
