Major attack on Pakistani army in Balochistan, 4 soldiers killed; 5 badly injured


New Delhi (Best Hindu News)- There has been a major terrorist attack on Pakistani army in Balochistan on Wednesday. Four Pakistani soldiers were killed in this attack, while five soldiers were injured. The attack took place in the early hours of Wednesday on a Pak Army camp in northern Balochistan area. The Inter-Services Public Relations said in its statement that the terrorists were trying to enter the camp when the soldiers spotted them.

“After heavy exchange of fire, the terrorists were confined to a small area along the border,” ISPR said. He said that three heavily armed terrorists have been killed so far. “Operation is on by the security forces to nab the remaining two terrorists as well,” the statement said. It further said, “The security forces are committed to thwart all such sinister attempts to destroy peace.”

Zhob District Commissioner (DC) Azeem Kakar also informed that the cantonment area in Zhob has come under attack, reports Pakistani newspaper Dawn. He further said that a woman civilian was killed after being caught in the crossfire, while five other civilians were injured. The officer said that the seriously injured are being referred to Quetta. DC Kakkar said that a passenger bus coming from Dera Ismail Khan also came under fire. He said nothing could be said about the number of attackers and added that all departments were on alert and an operation was underway.

After the end of the ceasefire with the government by the banned TTP in November last year, there has been an increase in terrorist activities, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Earlier this month, four security personnel were killed while a terrorist was also killed after an attack on a police and levy checkpost in Dhana Sar area of ​​Balochistan. A report released this month by the think tank Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies said that the first half of the current year saw a steady and worrying increase in terrorist and suicide attacks, which have claimed 389 lives across Pakistan.

In June, a police officer was killed and two others were injured in a suicide attack on a police van in Turbat, Balochistan. In an earlier incident in the same month, two soldiers lost their lives after an attack on a security forces checkpost in Kech district on the Pakistan-Iran border. In a press conference in June, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that security forces conducted 13,619 intelligence operations this year, in which 1,172 terrorists were killed or arrested.
