MG Aster Black Edition will be launched on September 6, know what is special about it?

New Delhi : British car maker MG Motor is going to launch the Black Edition of Aster on 6 September 2023 in the Indian car market. It is being told that this car of the automaker will follow the Gloster Blackstorm model launched in the month of May this year. The carmaker has released the teaser of the Black Edition of the Astor SUV ahead of its official launch. The special edition Aster SUV will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta Night Edition, Kia Seltos X Line and Skoda Kushaq Matte Edition in the compact SUV segment. It is being told that this car of the British car manufacturer can be introduced in the market with many changes.

MG Astor Black Edition: Exterior Design

The Black Edition of the MG Aster SUV will be offered in the market with an all-black theme like the Gloster Blackstorm Edition. The carmaker will use the Starry Black exterior theme tomorrow on the special variant of the Aster. For a premium look, it will get several chrome garnishes all around the SUV. The front grille and alloy wheels could also get glossy black, chrome and red color accents to highlight its sporty character. It is expected that the Black Edition badging on the SUV will differentiate it from the standard models as well.

MG Astor Black Edition: Interior Features

The all-black theme can be seen in the cabin of MG Motor’s Aster Black Edition. To give it a sporty look, red color is also likely to be used in the seat upholstery and steering wheel stitching. Although the changes can be made mostly to make it beautiful, but nothing new is expected in terms of features. Some of the features in this SUV can be given as 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, automatic climate control and electrically adjustable driver seat.

MG Astor Black Edition: Engine and Performance

The MG Aster Black Edition will come with the same 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is already being used. Mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, this engine can generate 138 Bhp power and 220 Nm peak torque. The fuel capacity in this SUV is expected to be around 14 kilometers per liter.

MG Astor Black Edition: Price

MG Astor Savvy variant with 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine and automatic gearbox in MG Astor is priced at Rs 18.69 lakh (ex-showroom). You can expect a premium of around 50,000 if you buy the Black Edition of the SUV when it is launched on 6th September.

Will compete with Hyundai Creta Night Edition

The MG Aster Black Edition will compete with the Hyundai Creta Night Edition in the Indian car market. Hyundai India launched the Creta Night Edition in May this year at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available with two engine options in two trims. In the Hyundai Creta Night Edition, interior rear and exterior finishes have been given in black shade. On the outside, the Creta Night Edition gets a de-chromed grille with horizontal red inserts at the front. It gets glass black finish on the front and rear skid plates, roof rails, C-pillar garnish, ORVMs and side sills. The rear gets a ‘Night Edition’ emblem on the tail gate while the tail lamps have been given a smokey look to match the overall look.
