After the BRICS summit in South Africa, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi reached Greece. After holding bilateral talks with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis there, Prime Minister Modi said that Greece and India share a natural relationship with two ancient civilizations of the world, two ancient democratic ideologies and two ancient trade and cultural ties. The foundation of our relationship is ancient and strong. He informed that during his visit an agreement has been signed for cooperation in the agriculture sector. In the area of ​​defense and security, both countries have agreed to strengthen military ties as well as strengthen the defense industry. Also, the two countries discussed mutual cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism and cyber security. It was decided that there should be a dialogue at the National Security Advisor level as well.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Prime Minister of Greece and he agreed that the bilateral trade between the two countries is growing rapidly and there is immense scope for growth in the coming times as well. Therefore, both the countries have decided to double their bilateral trade by 2030. Modi said that after a long gap of 40 years, an Indian Prime Minister has visited Greece, yet the depth and warmth of our relations have not diminished. Therefore, it has been decided to take India-Greece relations to a strategic level. Both the countries have decided to enhance their cooperation and strengthen their strategic partnership in the areas of defense and security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, new and emerging technology and skill development.

The Indian Prime Minister said that it has been decided to soon conclude a Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement to facilitate efficient migration between the two countries. Greece expressed its support for the India-EU Trade and Investment Agreement. Both countries support diplomacy and dialogue on the Ukraine issue. Modi thanked the Prime Minister of Greece for Greece’s cooperation at the United Nations and other international fora. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis accepted the Indian Prime Minister’s invitation to visit India and congratulated him on the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s South Pole. He said that both the countries are ready to move forward shoulder to shoulder to meet the challenges of their times.
