New Delhi: Former India cricketer and ex-chairman of the selection committee MSK Prasad was on Thursday appointed as a strategic advisor by the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Supergiants. In his new role, Prasad will guide the Lucknow-based team on various fronts.

“Prasad brings with him a wealth of experience and an impressive track record in cricket operations, as well as a passion that has propelled him to remarkable achievements in both the national and international arena,” Super Giants said in a statement. Prasad was the chairman of the senior selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from September 2016 to March 2020. The former wicket-keeper batsman also held the role of Director of Cricket Operations of the Andhra Cricket Association. The 48-year-old former cricketer represented India in six Tests and 17 ODIs, scoring 106 and 131 runs respectively.
