Mukesh Ambani’s children will not take any salary, will only get fees for attending board meetings.


The three heirs of the Mukesh Ambani family, who have been made directors of Reliance Industries Limited, will not take any salary and will only be paid fees for attending the meetings of the board of directors and committees. The company has given this information in the proposal placed to seek approval of the shareholders on his appointment.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani is not taking any salary since the financial year 2020-21. The inclusion of his two sons, Akash and Anant, and daughter Isha on the company’s board of directors was announced at the annual general meeting held in August.

Reliance has now sent a letter to its shareholders through post, seeking their approval on these three appointments. This notice states that the new directors will be paid fees for attending the meetings of the board of directors or committees. He will not take any salary from the company as a director.

Isha Ambani is taking charge of Reliance’s retail business, Reliance Retail. At the same time, Akash Ambani is taking charge of the telecom business Jio. His brother Anant Ambani owns the energy and renewable energy business of Reliance.

Mukesh Ambani has distributed different segments of the business among all his children as part of his succession plan. However, he will remain the chairman of the company for the next five years.
