Mumbai The Bombay High Court on Monday directed the Maharashtra government to take a decision within a month on the plea of ​​Godrej & Boyce Company to increase the compensation for the land acquired in suburban Vikhroli for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. A division bench of Justices BP Colabawala and MM Sathye, hearing the petition filed by the company, asked the state government to take a decision within 30 days on the request to increase the compensation for the land.

The Godrej Group company says that initially the compensation for this acquired land was fixed at Rs 572 crore but ultimately it was reduced to Rs 264 crore.

The company is demanding to increase it to Rs 993 crore. Earlier in the year, a petition challenging the land acquisition was rejected by the High Court. He had also appealed against this in the Supreme Court but he could not get relief from there either. However, the top court had directed to take a decision on the issue of increasing the compensation amount within six months.
