Pudhari Online Desk : The economic condition of Pakistan has become very critical. The state government of Punjab in Pakistan has announced to hoist a 500 feet high national flag on August 14 on the occasion of the country’s 76th Independence Day. About 40 crore Pakistani rupees will be spent for this. Pakistan has announced after receiving bailout package from International Monetary Fund (IMF) to stabilize the economy.

Pakistan, which is facing economic crisis, is hoisting the flag at Liberty Square in Lahore. Six years ago i.e. in 2017, Pakistan would have hoisted the highest flag of about 400 feet in South Asia on the Attari-Wagah border. So the flag of size 120×80 feet would have been the biggest flag in Pakistan.

Pakistani authorities have taken this decision a few days after IMF approved $3 billion bailout package for Pakistan. The amount will be released for nine months only to make Pakistan financially stable. Punjab province needs at least Rs 2,000 crore in the next two years to repay the foreign debt. Last year, on 12th July, Pakistan would have received 1 billion dollar aid from UAE. After that, Saudi Arabia would have transferred US$ 2 billion to the intermediate bank of the country. Since then Pakistan is struggling with its basic economy.
