Pakistan’s new jersey launch before ODI World Cup, India’s name is written on T-shirt


New Delhi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday launched the Pakistan team jersey for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 to be held in India at a launch event. It is being called the ‘Star Nation Jersey’. The jersey was unveiled at a grand ceremony led by Zaka Ashraf, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee.

Zaka Ashraf said, “The Star Nation jersey is testimony to the enduring bond between our cricketers and the ardent fans who stand by the team at every match. This jersey reflects our rich cricketing heritage and bright future. The PCB said that the Star Nation jersey is also available for pre-order on the internet. It is not just a garment, it is a symbol of the deep bond between Pakistan’s cricket heroes and their staunch supporters.
The design philosophy encapsulates the spirit of cricket excellence, which strikes a chord with every Pakistani cricket lover.

The top-ranked Pakistani ODI team will feature in the Asia Cup from August 30 to September 17. Tournament co-hosts Pakistan will open the competition by playing Nepal on August 30 at the Multan Cricket Stadium. After this, Pakistan will face arch-rivals India on September 2 at Pallekele.

The top two teams from Groups A and B will advance to the Super Four, where they will play three more games at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The final will also be played here on 17 September. Whereas, Pakistan will begin the Men’s ODI World Cup tournament against the Netherlands on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Then, on October 10, they will face Sri Lanka in Hyderabad itself.
