Gadkari said in a program recently, ‘The farmer will become energy provider, not just food provider, this is the thinking of our government. I am launching Toyota company vehicles in August. Now vehicles like Camry and Innova will run on ethanol prepared by farmers. 60% ethanol and 40% electricity. If its average is taken out, the price of petrol will be Rs 15 per litre. This will benefit the public. The farmer will become an energy provider, the country’s pollution will reduce. Import will be less. There is an import of Rs 16 lakh crore. Instead, this money will go to the farmers’ homes. Villages will be prosperous. The son of the farmer of the village will get employment.

Oil marketing companies last changed the price of petrol and diesel in April last year. In May, the Center reduced excise duty on petrol and diesel. Since then there has been no change in the price of petrol and diesel in the country. Petrol price in Delhi is Rs 96.72 and diesel is Rs 89.62 per liter. Assembly elections are to be held in many states this year and then general elections will be held in the country next year. That’s why it is believed that the price of petrol and diesel can be reduced in the coming days.
