Anushree Mehta and Abir Sengupta of Jaadugar Films and Sameer Raj Sippy of SRS Productions will jointly produce the official Hindi remake of three evergreen classics—Mili (1975), Koshish (1972) and Bawarchi (1972). Jaadugar Films has joined hands with SRS Productions to adapt these classics for the modern age. Sameer Raj Sippy is the grandson of noted filmmaker NC Sippy and son of director Raj Sippy. Loved by millions, all three films are considered masterpieces of Indian cinema. While Koshish, a heartwarming, poignant story; Directed by Gulzar, Bawarchi directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Miley are all-time favourites. The filmmakers’ unique vision, insightful characters and wholesome storytelling left an indelible mark on generations of viewers. Veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Sanjeev Kumar and others gave their career best performances in these films.

Anushree Mehta and Abir Sengupta jointly from Jaadugar Films said, “We are absolutely thrilled to embark on this magical journey of reimagining three of our all-time favorite films in a new shape and form. It is a huge responsibility as Koshish, Bawarchi and Mili are popular in India and across the world, created by the great Gulzar Saab and Rishi Da, who set the benchmarks of filmmaking for generations to come. These are the films that we grew up watching and these are the stories that the new generation should also watch to know about our rich cinematic heritage. We will try our best to live up to the expectations, responsibility and most importantly, remake these films that will touch the hearts of audiences far and wide.’

Sameer Raj Sippy said, “I think films are about defining moments, which are interesting enough to share with people, and that is why I think the time has come for us to retell classic stories. Take them and bring them in today’s scenario with a fresh and modern outlook. That’s the motive behind revisiting Bawarchi, Miley and Koshish. Coming from a renowned family of filmmakers and inspired by the family business, I now want to continue the legacy that my grandfather N.C. Sippy, handed over by my uncle Romu Sippy and my father Raj Sippy.

The biggest feature of these three films is that the heroine of all three is Jaya Bachchan. While she is mute in Prasish, she is very talkative in Mili and an introvert in Bawarchi who helps Rajesh Khanna with the household chores. At the box office, these three films had achieved success in doing excellent business in their time.
