Sangram Singh, a versatile talent who has distinguished himself as an Indian wrestler, a social worker and a health guru, has been chosen as the new brand ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. This was announced by Shri Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) on behalf of the Government of India.
Sangram Singh expressed happiness about his new avatar and said, “I feel very proud to be a partner of Swachh Bharat Mission. Together we can play an important role in inspiring the youth and make this earth clean and green. Join me in the Shramdaan program for cleanliness on 01 October and play an important role in bringing positive change in the society.”
It is noteworthy that Sangram Singh has been a source of inspiration for the youth for a long time. His achievements include being selected as the Fit India Icon for the year 2021 by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as the brand ambassador of the Fit India campaign. Sangram Singh was also made the face of the anti-tobacco campaign ‘Tobacco Free India’.
Apart from being a role model for the youth, Sangram Singh’s deep dedication towards fitness makes him the perfect person to be the brand ambassador of the campaign related to cleanliness and environment.
It is worth noting that the campaign ‘Call to Action’, started on the initiative of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a campaign that asks every citizen of the country to do ‘Shramdaan for cleanliness’ for one hour on 1st October from 10.00 am.
