A seminar on ‘Gandhi Marg of Leadership’ was organized by the Soft Skill Development Committee of South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 4th October 2023 at 6:00 pm at Samriddhi, Nanpura. In which Mrinal Shukla, Senior Corporate Trainer and Business Growth Strategist Discussed the leadership qualities of Mahatma Gandhi through scenes from the film.

Kalpesh Desai, member of the Soft Skills Development Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, started the program by welcoming the guests. After that, Chiragbhai Desai, Chairman of the Chamber’s Soft Skills Development Committee, explained the outline of the program. It is very important to discuss leadership in the context of different aspects of personality. In the program, Public Relations Committee Chairperson Nishaben Anand introduced Mrinal Shukla’s experience and the duties performed by him on various posts.

On this occasion, Chamber of Commerce Vice President Vijay Mewawala said that apart from cleanliness, there is a lot to be learned from Mahatma Gandhi. One of which is leadership. Leadership is an important quality and not everyone has it. Whenever we think about leadership, we remember the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi.
In his speech, he mentioned the Champaran Satyagraha as an example of Gandhiji’s leadership. He said, Gandhiji had started Satyagraha only by avoiding speeches and false advertisements. Champaran Satyagraha lasted for 10 months and this Satyagraha of Gandhiji ended the injustice being done to the farmers for 100 years.

Discussing the leadership qualities of Gandhiji, the speaker of the program Mrinal Shukla said, ‘Before criticizing or condemning Gandhiji, one should get complete information about his qualities and his life.

One should try to understand Gandhiji not as a great man but as a human being. Everyone makes mistakes in their life, but it is important to accept it and try not to repeat the mistake. Not only Indians were influenced by Gandhiji but foreigners were also influenced by his ideas and respected his ideals.

Even in the 21st century, former President of a powerful country like America, Barack Obama, considers Gandhi as his ideal. Talking about Gandhiji’s leadership, he elaborated on inner motivation, effective communication, extraordinary vision in leaders, the principles and qualities adopted by him.

At the end of the seminar, the questions of the attendees were answered by speaker Mrinal Shukla and all the entrepreneurs were thanked by Kalpesh Desai. The then former President of Chamber of Commerce Himanshu Bodawala, Chairman of Soft Skills Development Committee Chirag Bhai Desai and entrepreneurs associated with various industrial units were present in the seminar.
