New Delhi: The total domestic sales of the country’s leading automobile company Tata Motors increased by two percent on an annual basis in September to 82,023 units. The company had sold 80,633 units in September 2022. Tata Motors told the stock market on Sunday that the company’s domestic sales in the passenger vehicle (including electric vehicles) segment stood at 44,809 units in September, down six percent year-on-year.
In September 2022 it was 47,654 units. Total sales of electric vehicles (EVs) (including international markets) increased by 57 per cent year-on-year to 6,050 units in September as against 3,864 units in September last year. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd and Tata Passengers Electric Mobility Ltd, said, in the turbulent second quarter of the financial year, Tata Motors recorded quarterly sales of 1,38,939 cars and SUVs.
The company said its total commercial vehicle sales increased by 12 percent to 39,064 units in September 2023, compared to 34,890 units in September 2022. Tata Motors Executive Director Girish Wagh said that the company’s domestic sales of commercial vehicles increased by six percent to 99,178 units in the second quarter of the current financial year.
