This year, the film industry is excited with the tremendous success of ‘Pathan’, ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Jawaan’. New films are continuously arriving in theatres. However, there is no craze for these among the audience like the films of Sunny Deol and Shahrukh Khan. However, on Friday (6 October), two films, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ and Bhumi Pednekar’s film ‘Thank You for Coming’ were released.

A day before this, on Thursday (5th October), Sunny Deol’s son Rajveer Deol and Poonam Dhillon’s daughter Paloma’s film ‘Dono’ hit the theatres. As it was being predicted from the beginning that among these three films, only Akshay Kumar’s film would get the audience, which has proved to be correct. However, even Akshay has not been able to get a large number of viewers. First of all let’s talk about ‘Mission Raniganj’. It is based on the true story of the rescue mission conducted in 1989 by a brave mining engineer, late Jaswant Singh Gill.

According to the film earned Rs 2.80 crore in India on the first day. Parineeti Chopra is opposite Akshay in the film directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. Tinu has already given a successful film with Akshay Kumar but it is a bit difficult to say the same about Raniganj. Now let us also see the condition of ‘Thank you for coming’. This film, directed by Karan Boolani, earned only Rs 80 lakh on the first day. The film also stars Shehnaaz Gill, Shibani Bedi, Kusha Kapila and Dolly Singh along with Bhumi.

The film revolves around five friends and their encounter with the concept of female sexual pleasure. Now comes the turn of ‘both’. Its first day earning was only Rs 35 lakh. This is also the first film of Sooraj Barjatya’s son director Avnish Barjatya along with Rajveer and Paloma.
