‘Then would the price of petrol have skyrocketed’, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said this


New Delhi : External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said on Monday that if India had not had a strong foreign policy, petrol prices would have skyrocketed. Underlining the importance of a strong foreign policy to the students of NIT Delhi, Dr. S. Jaishankar said that without a good foreign policy, the price of petrol-diesel and kerosene oil would be very high. He said that not only this, the cost of the iPhone you buy would also be very high.

Russia’s relations with western countries deteriorated after Ukraine war

Discussing India-Russia relations amid the Ukraine war, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said that the government wants to ensure that the interests of Indians are protected and that they are paramount. He said that Russia’s main economic partner was the western countries. That route was closed after the Ukraine conflict. Russia is turning towards Asia. Before the Ukraine conflict, our trade was about $12-14 billion, which increased to $40 billion last year. The Asian economy is becoming a major player in the global economy. I think we should not be worried about what they are doing with other countries. We should continue our relationship.

Development is not possible without research, development and technology

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar further said that no country can progress without adopting R&D and technology. Interacting with the students of NIT Delhi as part of BJP’s public relations campaign launched on the occasion of completion of nine years of Modi government, he suggested the students to understand the local and global developments. Referring to the impact of the Corona pandemic and the Ukraine war on petroleum and food prices, he said that globalization has destroyed the walls inside and outside and you have to understand what is happening around you.

He said that many changes took place in the last nine years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Referring to PM Modi’s recent US visit, Dr S Jaishankar said that he has a different image, especially in the democratic world, he (Modi) has the image of a senior, experienced and credible leader. He said that Prime Minister Modi’s thoughts and his decisions have an impact. He said that in his foreign visits, Prime Minister Modi represents the strength and talents of 140 crore Indians. Now the world is looking towards India and its youth.
