New Delhi: There was a boom in the stock market on Friday, the last day of the last trading week. Sensex rallied 556 points on Friday due to buying in energy, metals and oil stocks amid strong global cues and positive domestic economic data. At the same time, the Nifty had once again achieved the level of 19,400. BSE’s 30-share benchmark index Sensex climbed 555.75 points, or 0.86 percent, to close at 65,387.16 points. At one point during the trading, it had reached a high of 19,435.30 points. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) index Nifty also closed at 19,435.30 points, up 181.50 points, or 0.94 percent.

Among the companies included in the Sensex, NTPC saw the maximum gain of 4.84 percent. Apart from this, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Power Grid, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finance and Tech Mahindra were also major gainers. On the other hand, UltraTech Cement, Sun Pharma, Nestle and L&T closed with losses.
