Two films from Uttarakhand selected for Best Cinematography and Best Non Feature Film

DehradunUttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami selected Bittu Rawat for Best Cinematography for two short films ‘Patal-Ti’ from Uttarakhand and Srishti Lakheda’s Garhwali film ‘Ek Tha Gaon’ for Best Non Feature Film in the list of 69th National Film Awards. Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the hardworking members of both the films.

The Chief Minister said that on the strength of their talent, these youths of the state have done the work of bringing serious problems like Himalayan concerns and migration on the national platform. Apart from giving direction to the society, these films will also work to inspire the youth. He said that the award received by these youth is also an honor of the state.

Shri Dhami said that the natural beauty of Uttarakhand has made filmmakers a center of attraction for Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Several decisions have been taken in the interest of filmmakers in the state to facilitate them. He said that entire Uttarakhand is a destination for filming. The Chief Minister expected the people of the state associated with the film world that this holy land of Uttarakhand has given them the opportunity to reach this point.

Along with the country and the world, he also became helpful in illuminating the name of his state. He said that we have to be connected to our cultural environment and the rituals given by our ancestors. These are our roots. We will be successful in life only by staying connected to our roots and our identity will remain. Shri Dhami said that no matter how many generations an Indian lives anywhere in the world, his Indianness, his loyalty towards India, never diminishes. The reason for this is our distinctive cultural consciousness, in which India is always alive in its heart.

He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has done the work of rekindling the eternal culture in the minds of Indians living abroad along with the country. The Chief Minister said that the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not only doing physical development of the country, but is also working to hoist the glory of India’s eternal culture in the world.

Director General Information Banshidhar Tiwari has also congratulated these young filmmakers of the state. Nodal Officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council Dr. Nitin Upadhyay along with other officials have also termed it as a big achievement for the state.
