Vivo V29e Review: Vivo has mastered the art of colour-changing smartphones. Company after company has introduced such phones which come with color changing design. The back panel of Vivo V29e is made with a slightly different design. The starting price of this phone is Rs 26,999. Let us know how is the look and feel of this phone and how is its performance.

Vivo V29e Price:
The phone has been launched in two variants. Its first variant is equipped with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. It can be bought for Rs 26,999. At the same time, its 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant can be bought for Rs 28,999. It can be bought in Artistic Blue and Artistic Red color.

Vivo V29e Design: We have received the Artistic Red color variant of this phone. The company has said that this phone comes with color changing glass. When going in the sun, the color of the phone changes and it starts looking bright red. We have seen this in Vivo’s earlier smartphones as well and this can be called a big USP of the company’s phone. Using the phone with one hand is a bit difficult. This phone is very slippery. In such a situation, it becomes necessary to cover with the phone. Its back panel is matte on one side and glossy on the other. Fingerprints can be printed on the glossy side. The buttons of the phone are given at the right place. Most people get used to similar patterns.

Talking about ports, the SIM tray, Type-C port and speaker grill are present at the bottom. Volume and power buttons are given on the right side. Two big sensors are given at the back. Overall, I liked the look of the phone. Yes, I personally do not like stripes but there are many users who may like this type of design. The phone is 7.49mm thin and weighs 180.5 grams.

Display of Vivo V29e: The phone has a 6.78-inch FHD + AMOLED display. This is 3D curved display. Its refresh rate is 120 Hz. I watched many videos on the phone. The colors of the videos were accurate and bright. If you are watching a movie or series on an OTT platform, then the experience also depends on the quality of that video. Be it YouTube or Netflix, the fun of watching videos doubles. From colors to detailing and accuracy, everything got perfect in it. Although its display supports HDR10+ but it does not support HDR content on YouTube. The brightness was a bit low when going in direct sunlight. Overall, its display can be called good in this segment.

Performance: The phone has been given 8 GB RAM with Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor. Also, up to 256 GB of storage has been given. The processor could have been improved in the range in which this phone has been launched. But on average all the work can be done easily on the phone. During this, any kind of hang or lag issue will not be seen. However, if you use heavy apps and use the phone continuously, then the phone may hang. Tasks like browsing, social media scrolling, light gaming, calling, messaging, listening to songs can be done smoothly without any hassle.

Talking about the audio experience, the Vivo V29e has a single speaker at the bottom. The lack of stereo speakers will be felt. However, the sound of the phone is fine. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor which is quite quick.

Talking about the software, this phone works on Android 13 based on Funtouch 13. There are a lot of bloatwares in this phone which spoils the screen experience of the phone. The phone has been given customization levels through which you can completely control the look and feel of the device. Quick search function is given. If you want a phone with a clean interface, then this phone can disappoint you.

Talking about gaming, we played Subway Safar, Candy Crush, Racing games in this phone. Also played games like Asphalt 9. The experience was quite smooth and good with low graphics games or normal games. The experience with Asphalt 9 was also fine but it would be better to play it on low graphics settings. Gaming for a long time is not good for the phone. Anyway, this is not a gaming smartphone, so it is advisable to do a little bit of gaming on it.

Battery: The phone has a 5000 mAh battery, which is equipped with 44W fast charging. Even if you use the phone for the whole day, its battery can support you for 1 day. At the same time, if you use the average, then its battery can last for one and a half days. Talking about the charging capacity, it takes more than 1 hour to get fully charged.

Camera: Dual rear camera is present in the phone. Its first sensor is 64 megapixels which comes with OIS lens. At the same time, the second sensor is an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens. The phone has a 50-megapixel AF front sensor for selfie. In the light of day, the photo from the primary sensor of the phone comes with a lot of detailing. Its colors and sharpness were also quite accurate. Wide dynamic range has been given in it, due to which the highlights and shadows in the photo remain balanced.

Talking about portrait shots, its shots come with quite clear and detailing. The subject immediately emerges. The background gets blurred nicely. Talking about the ultra-wide camera, it is not very good but decent photos are captured. There is a lack of detailing and focus. Night photography disappoints. There is a lack of detailing. The phone has a 50-megapixel front camera, so that good shots can be taken in daylight. However, at times selfies seem oversaturated.

Our Verdict: We have already told you the price and performance. If your phone usage is not very much. If you use the phone moderately and are not fond of gaming then you can keep it in your bucket list.
