Moscow: Nothing is known about Wagner Chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, who launched a rebellion against President Vladimir Putin in Russia. The disappearance of the private army chief Wagner in this way is not digestible to the experts. He believes that his disappearance points to Putin being alert. On Thursday, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenka also held a press conference which was related to Prigozhin. From this press conference of his, it can be guessed that Prigozhin has not been seen since June 24. According to experts, this is definitely a dangerous situation.

Lukashenka made distance

Lukashenka, who brokered a deal between Prigozhin and the Kremlin, has distanced himself from all this ruckus. Lukashenka made it clear that neither Wagner Chief is in Belarus nor his mercenaries are in the country. It is also not clear whether Wagner’s soldiers have come to Belarus or not. Lukashenka said, ‘He is in St. Petersburg or maybe he left for Moscow or somewhere else this morning. But it is not in the territory of Belarus. Under the agreement that Lukashenka made, Prigozhin and his soldiers would move from Russia to Belarus.

Blamed Putin!
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed this. He said that the settlement was possible because Prigozhin and Lukashenko have known each other personally for 20 years. But Lukashenka denied this and said that he, not Putin, has been a long-time friend of Prigozhin. It is clear that now both the leaders are reluctant to declare themselves close to Prigozhin. Peskov dismissed every question about Prigozhin’s whereabouts in the latest statement. “We do not know where he is, nor do we want to know,” he said.

At the same time, Anton Gerashchenko, advisor to the Interior Minister of Ukraine, also tweeted on this situation. He wrote, ‘It is very good that the Russian authorities have virtually no information about the man who started the armed rebellion against them. But where is he with the money, weapons and Wagner’s mercenaries?’

Why is Prigozhin roaming free

After the rebellion was over, Lukashenka claimed that Prigozhin had reached Belarus. But no one has confirmed this. On the other hand, it has been told by the Russian media that the police raided Prigozhin’s office and home in St. Petersburg. A few hours later there were also reports that some of Prigozhin’s money and property had been returned to him. But it remains a mystery that after all Lukashenka has failed to fulfill the terms of the agreement. Despite this, why has Putin left Prigozhin free till now? Prior to the rebellion, Prigozhin was a social media rock star.
