After ruling the silver screen for years, Kajol made her OTT debut with The Trial – Pyaar Kanoon Dhoka. People are crazy about every style of Kajol. While many like her in serious roles, some like to see her as the playful Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Meanwhile, speaking at an event, Kajol recalled how she almost got a chance to do a film with acclaimed director Mani Ratnam. However things did not materialize as she had promised her dates to filmmaker Karan Johar for the 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Kajol recalled her old days and said that “I was supposed to shoot for ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and at the same time I got an offer from Mani Ratnam to do a film for him. At first, I couldn’t believe that I got an offer from Mr. Ratnam. But things didn’t work out because I had promised dates to Karan for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Many people told me, ‘You should have done Mani sir’s film’. At that time I felt my commitment was more important and it worked in my favour. Did.

Talking about pay parity, Kajol said, when a film like ‘Wonder Woman’ is made for the Indian audience and a big box office hit like ‘Pathan’, then pay parity will be seen in Indian cinema. The actress then said that audiences today have become ‘much more literate’ because of their exposure to global content through social media and streamers. India is making progress. They watch different types of cinema thanks to social media and OTT. We are thinking better, hoping better. When you start making ‘Wonder Woman’ for India and it happens to be as good as ‘Pathan’, then maybe there will be parity in pay.
