New Delhi: India’s young star Yashasvi Jaiswal is all set to make his Test debut as an opener in the first Test against West Indies in Dominica on Wednesday. This is a great opportunity for them. He will be the opening partner with his domestic cricket partner Rohit Sharma. The 21-year-old was in terrific form recently during the IPL and has done well in domestic cricket in the Test format as well. Talking about his debut, Aakash Chopra said- The good thing about Yashasvi Jaiswal’s selection is that it IPL is not just because of runs. Yes, he was in absolutely stupendous form this season of IPL, then went on to pile up runs in first-class cricket playing for Mumbai and West Zone. The former India opener said- In fact, wherever he has played, whenever he has got a chance, he has done well.

He further said – He just needs to understand the situation in the Windies. However, the debut will not be easy for him. The simple reason for this is that there is a difference between first class cricket and Test cricket. Challenges are different in both. When you are playing abroad it is a bit more difficult, but I think Yashasvi Jaiswal will do well.

On the other hand, Abhinav Mukund said- Yashasvi is one of the more impressive young players. I am excited to see how he does in Test cricket. I think he will give a good answer. Dukes ball and pitch with little grass will be challenging for Jaiswal, but I think he has good technique. He can perform brilliantly in this format.
